The name Jimsonweed comes from the Datura stramonium plant, historically associated with transformation, perception and altered states of awareness.

This idea reflects our approach to visual storytelling: expanding what is visible, enhancing what is felt, and supporting the emotional core of each story.

Founded in 2024 by Alonso Varela, Jimsonweed combines visual effects, post-production and original development under a production-focused studio model.

The studio brings together international industry experience and emerging talent, combining creative direction with technical execution to deliver work that is both precise and emotionally grounded.
